Section 38 Road Traffic Act 1994 - Traffic Calming Scheme
L-2020 Bog Road approaches to Bushy Park and Carriglea Services

Waterford City & County Council proposes to undertake Traffic Calming Improvement works along a section of the Bog Road (L-2020), Dungarvan on the approaches to Bushy Park and Carriglea Services site entrances.

This is a high-speed section of roadway with limited visibility exiting Bushy Park site entrance.

The proposed improvement works includes:

  • Improved entrance visibility at Bushy Park site entrance to comply with County Development requirements
  • Improvements to the junction visibility at the Junction of the L2020/L-20202.
  • The narrowing of the Bog Road to 6.25m, kerbline to kerbline along the extents of the traffic calming works will help speed reduction.
  • Road edge kerbing will be constructed on both sides of the L-2020 extending from Bushy Park Site Entrance to Carriglea Site Entrance along with additional buildouts to calm approaching traffic.
  • Additional ‘SLOW’ and improved signage are included in works. These works are necessary and will provide effective traffic calming and will provide a safer environment for all road users along this busy roadway. See attached drawing.

The drawing is available for inspection opposite, and on the Council's website www.waterfordcouncil.ie and in our Customer Services Departments in Davitt's Quay, Dungarvan and Bailey's New Street, Waterford between normal office hours during the period 1st May to 15th May, 2024.

The Council will consider any submissions or observations made in writing regarding the proposal. Submissions should be made here on the Council’s consultation portal https://consult.waterfordcouncil.ie or sent to ajacob@waterfordcouncil.ie or Aideen Jacob, Administrative Officer, Roads Department, Waterford City & County Council, Menapia Building, The Mall, Waterford, to be received by 15th May, 2024.
