Connecting footpath Ballinroad

I am a resident of Ballinroad with a young family who regularly use the road between the church and Clonea Road round-about.

This road has no safe pedestrian footpath or cycle lane for the many residents/children and visitors to the area to safely access many of the local amenities and access points that children and adults alike use on a regular basis such as Ballinroad soccer club, St. Lawrence's Hall, Dungarvan Rugby Club, Waterford Greenway, Clonea Strand etc.

The road narrows on a bend at one point creating a blind spot, I have both been involved in and witnessed a near miss in this area. The road is used regularly by residents in the winter months in darkness for exercise/walks etc and as we move towards the summer months the traffic volume and size increases with visitors to Clonea from the N25 via Ballinroad and tractors with silage trailers regularly using the road during the summer months.

It is only a matter of time before there is a serious accident involving a pedestrian and vehicle on this road if a footpath/cycle lane is not provided.
