I am a resident of Ballinroad Road and I wish to highlight a huge safety issue in the Ballinroad area.
The stretch of road between Ballinroad Church and the clonea roundabout badly needs a cycle track and a footpath which preferably will have streetlights. This is a heavily used road by all the population and a direct link from the village to the local soccer club, Greenway cafe and Clonea beach.
At present people on bikes, scooters, walking and pushing buggies are taking their lives into their own hands walking on this badly lite road and especially in the summer when traffic increases dramatically heading for Clonea beach.
Simply put this should be the councils main priority for residents in the ballinroad area.
This road has been promised to the people of Ballinroad and has never been delivered. This should be no. 1 on the list of priorities. It is a serious safety concern.
