Appendix 8: Landscape and Seascape Character Assessment, Scenic Routes and Protected Views
When a decision was made to include part of the Comeragh Mountain's as a preferred area for renewable energy the mind boggles as to what criteria was used to come to such an erroneous decision. Decisions made based on desktop studies and with no consultation whatsoever with the local community is unacceptable. The magnitude of such decisions alters not only our unspoilt landscape that is clearly visible from the comeragh drive. It completely alters our living conditions. It destroys the legacy of unspoilt history. It is obvious that whoever was involved in the decision making have not visited the area. I ask the local elected representatives to please come and visit our area it will speak for itself. The destruction of any part of the Comeragh Mountains to facilitate eleven 185m wind turbines would definitely become part of everybody's landscape. There is no pre-existing infrastructure to support any industrialisation of this area
