The red line sketched on the map below should be added to the Transport Map for Dungarvan as a pedestrian/cycle route objective.
WCCC had pursued this as a recreational route in the past as an objective in the Smarter Travel Programme for the town. This is a potential Active Travel route with significant potential for full separation of vulnerable road users from the vehicular traffic and also as recreational trail. This route is likely be identified in any future Active Travel Plan for the town as a cycling and walking route to schools in the Emmet Street and byond to the town centre.
