Appendix 2: Specific Development Objectives
The following is the current objective under the Dungarvan area:
DGDO6 ● DO6 As the opportunities arise the Council shall provide a footpath/cycle-path, public lighting and traffic calming on the L3012 Road to connect Ballinroad Village with Garranbane National School and along the L3011 linking Ballinroad with the Waterford Greenway.
Firstly, could this objective be split into two separate and distinct objectives as both are worthy in and of themselves?
Secondly, while I fully acknowledge the Council's intention to provide a safe footpath/cyclepath from Ballinroad village to the Greenway, I note the missed opportunity to do so, at least partially, in the last year or so when sightlines for the new housing development were being put in place. Therefore, I respectfully request that a firm commitment be made to prioritise this safety issue as soon as possible and that the objective be split, strengthened and amended as follows:
DGDO6 ● DO6 It is an objective of the Council to provide a footpath/cycle-path, public lighting and traffic calming on the L3012 Road to connect Ballinroad Village with Garranbane National School.
DGDO6 ● DO6A It is an objective of the Council to provide a footpath/cycle-path, public lighting and traffic calming on the L3011 linking Ballinroad with the Waterford Greenway as a matter of priority.
