Notice of Intention to Extinguish the Public Right of Way over a

ection of Abbey Road, Ferrybank, Waterford.

Notice is hereby given that Waterford City and County Council in pursuance of its function under Section 73 of the Roads Act 1993 proposes, as local authority for the administrative area of the County of Waterford to make an order that the public right of way as set out in the attached drawing shall be extinguished.

he public right of way to be extinguished refers to a distance extending approximately 84m east of the junction with Fountain Street. The existing public right of way is being extinguished to reflect recent works which have replaced the old junction between Abbey Road and Fountain Street and realigned Abbey Road onto its new route further south.

The drawing is available for inspection opposite and in our Customer Services Departments in Davitt's Quay, Dungarvan and Bailey's New Street, Waterford between normal office hours during the period 18th September to 15th October, 2024.

The Council will consider any submissions or observations made in writing regarding the proposal. Submissions should be made here on the Council’s consultation portal https://consult.waterfordcouncil.ie or by post to Aideen Jacob, Administrative Officer, Roads Department, Waterford City & County Council, Menapia Building, The Mall, Waterford, to be received by 29th October, 2024.

Any person making an objection may also make a request in writing to state their case at an oral hearing which may be conducted, if deemed appropriate, by Waterford City and County Council.
