WATERFORD CITY AND COUNTY COUNCIL
CONTROL OF HORSES BYE-LAWS 2026
Waterford City and County Council in exercise of the powers conferred upon it by sections 13, 19 39(2), 40(2), 46 and 47 of Control of Horses Act 1996 (no. 37 of 1996) hereby gives notice that it has prepared Draft Control of Horses Byelaws for the regulation and control of horses in respect of the area comprising Waterford County.
The Draft Bye-Laws are available for inspection here on this page (right) and during normal office hours from Tuesday 30th June 2026 to Friday 31st July 2026 at the Council’s Customer Services Departments in Civic Offices, Dungarvan and Bailey’s New Street, Waterford.
The Council will consider any submissions or observations made in writing regarding the bye-law proposals. Submissions should be made as follows:-
